About Us

Bay Area Arts Alliance is a 501(c)(3) organization of musicians, composers, artists, dancers, and other performers who are passionate about bringing life-changing, live programming to the SF Bay Area. We are dedicated to presenting works of living artists and historical works from artists that are lesser known in the repertory. Our goal is to create a concert environment that includes and engages the public – lessening the formality of the typical “classical” presentation and connecting with each audience member on a deeply personal, human level.

Here are the people behind BAAA –

Megan Cullen is a lifelong performer and patron of the arts. Megan is primarily a singer, and has resided in the Bay Area for over 15 years. She started producing shows on-line during the pandemic, and came to realize the need for a company like BAAA as a consequence.

Megan has an instrumental background, in addition to her vocal education, which makes her uniquely suited to spearheading this kind of multi-disciplinary endeavor. She is also an avid watercolor artist, and is fascinated by the potential for intersection of the visual and
performing arts – something omnipresent in opera, but lacking in other types of musical performance, like recitals and concerts.

Bay Area native, Janine Monteleone Sahm, brings more than her organizational skills to the position of secretary. She is a visual artist producing works in many mediums with a penchant for lobsters. Her art explores the dissonance between the wonder of human connection and the malaise of existentialism via linocut, acrylics, amigurumi, and more.

A professional artist and teacher, Janine is also a student of music, striving for proficiency on multiple instruments and exploring how to add musical composition to her artistic repertoire. Giddy about expanding access to the life-changing opportunity of live performance, Janine is honored to be a part of BAAA’s mission.

Despite her busy performing schedule, she is a firm advocate in music education and wants to push for a bigger change in the classical music world to cultivate and empower the future generation of musicians.
